Understanding US invasion of Afghanistan:Theoretical lense

Abstract
The 9/11 terrorist attack on the US soil happens to be one of the most horrendous terrorist attack on humanity. The US response to this terrorist attack was heavy handed and led to a global war against terror. The Taliban regime in Afghanistan was supposed to be a safe haven for the terrorist. The US offered Taliban to extradite Bin laden in order to avoid military action. The offer was summarily rejected by the Taliban regime. Consequently, the Bush administration decided to militarily overthrow the Taliban. The present paper aims at probing the US-Afghanistan War from the perspectives of different theoretical lenses available in the discipline of International Relations. Idea is to deconstruct the theoretical underpinnings to the 9/11 event and its consequences on global politics today.
