PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING AND LIFE-SATISFACTION AMONG RETIRED PERSONS OF RANCHI (LIVING IN OLD AGE HOMES). Deepali Kumari Ph.D Research Scholar, Department of Psychology Ranchi University, Ranchi This study is an attempt to investigate the psychological well-being and life satisfaction of retired persons of Ranchi (Jharkhand). 30 retired persons (Mean age 62.36 years) were chosen purposively from old age home, which 15 were male and 15 were female. The psychological well-being was assessed through administration of the General (Psychological) well-being scale of Sisodia and Choudhary (1971). Life satisfaction of the sample was assessed by the administration of the satisfaction with life scale of Diener et.al (1985). Result shows that female participants were scores highly in psychological well-being and life-satisfaction scale. There are no significant differences were found between male and female participants on their psychological well-being and life satisfaction scale. Index Terms: Psychological (general) Well-Being, Life-Satisfaction, Retired Persons, Old Age Home.
