Geriatric is a branch of medical science deals with problems of aging and disease of elderly. (3) Aging is natural process. It reduces the number of healthy cells in body therefore the body loses its ability to respond to a challenge ( external / internal stress) to maintain homeostasis.Similarly like other vital organs functional ability of GIT system is reduced considerably and thereby become victims of Agnimadhya leading to Ajirna , Dyspepsia, loss of appetite, Constipation, Acid peptic disorders.In order to improve this Agnimadhyalifestyle modification and in general ayurvedic management is need of a hour so that their quality of life can be increased.
