Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) are one of the most dynamic and important sectors in the Indian economy. It contributes a significant percentage to both the country’s GDP and employment. With low capital costs, it provides a large number of people with direct and indirect employment. In a liberal economic scenario, it faces strong competition and also problems like a shortage of cheaper capital, upgraded technology, and skilled labour supply. MSME's Directorate Industries offers various types of assistance for survival in competitive situations.
