Abstract: The Mourning of Muharram (also known as Azadari, Remembrance of Muharram or Muharram Observances) is a set of commemoration rituals observed primarily by Shia people. The commemoration falls in Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar. The practices of azadari has been followed since sixth century. Its been practiced all over the world in different forms. Managerial functions mainly include planning, organising, directing and controlling. The proceedings of azadari is based on various managerial functions and is completed properly due to the systematic application of these principles. In this paper, we shall evaluate the application of various managerial functions in azadari processions.
