Title

A QUASI-EXPERIMENTAL STUDY TO ASSESS THE EFFECTIVENESS OF VIDEO ASSISTED TEACHING AID ON KNOWLEDGE REGARDING CPR AMONG THE ENGINEERING STUDENTS IN PDM UNIVERSITY, BAHADURGARH.

Abstract

Background & Objectives: The study aim to assess the effectiveness of video assisted teaching aid on knowledge regarding CPR among the engineering students in PDM University, Bahadurgarh, Haryana. Materials & Methods: The methodology of the present study was a Quasi-experimental research design. Sample size of the study was 40 (i.e. 20 each for experimental and control group) adults selected with purposive sampling technique. Sampling criteria will be selected on the bases of adults are willing to participate and their availability and according to their age group with non-medical students Socio- demographic variable and pre & posttest questionnaire was used for data collection. Data analysis was done with the help of descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: The study findings reveal with regard to questionnaire score in experimental group the mean ± S.D. of pretest value is 9.5 ±2.481. But in posttest the mean ±S.D. value is 18.7 & 3.262. The Df value is 19 and t value is 2.546 and the result is significant. In control group the mean ±S.D. of pre-test value is 9.25 & 3.385. But in posttest the mean ±S.D. value is 12.45 & 4.261. The Df value is 19 and t value is 1.800 and result is significant. Hence, video assisted teaching aid was effective on knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation among non-medical students there was statically significant association between pre-test and posttest level of knowledge of sample with socio-demographic variables like residence etc. Conclusion: The study concluded that the video assisted teaching aid was effective on level of knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation among non-medical students.
