Title

Codon adaptive index studies of Na+-R and Su-R mutant cyanobacteria autotrophy genes

Abstract

Cyanobacteria respond to salt and osmotic stress in quite different way and these stresses induced distinct sets of genes whose products enable them to acclimatize successfully in the changed environment. Codon Adaptive Index of up-regulated and down-regulated genes of Na+-R and Su-R mutant Nostoc muscorum involved in photosynthesis were studied. Three common genes show high CAI value in up-regulated Na+-R and Su-R mutant of Nostoc muscorum. One gene i.e. all1082 reported high CAI value in common down-regulated gene in Na+-R and Su-R mutant Nostoc muscorum involved in photosynthesis. Higher CAI values mean the better adaptation towards the stressed condition.
