The present study explores the intricate realm of metanarratives within American culture, with the objective of elucidating their historical importance, evolutionary trajectory, and profound impact on the construction of the American identity. Metanarratives, which refer to comprehensive narratives that have influence on society perceptions, provide a framework for examining the American understanding of history, culture, and values. The main aim of this research paper is to analyse metanarratives within American society, focusing specifically on key narratives such as the American Dream, Manifest Destiny, and the Frontier Myth. The study concludes with a number of significant discoveries that emphasise the lasting and influential nature of metanarratives. It is imperative to acknowledge the enduring impact of these narratives in order to cultivate a more inclusive, cognizant, and knowledgeable American society. In addition to its sociocultural implications, this research makes a valuable contribution to the wider scholarly conversation on identity by providing a framework for understanding the complex interaction between historical narratives and present-day views.
