Title

WHY ELECTRIC VEHICLES ARE CATCHING FIRE?

Abstract

Car buyers prefer EVs because they require less servicing, cost less money, and pose no danger to the environment one significant problem has emerged in the last two to three years: why are electric cars burning? While modern electric cars are powered by batteries, they have been causing some worries with respect to their safety and the reasons behind some accidents. In this abstract we seek to examine the factors causing electrical vehicular fires with specific focus on thermal control, accidents among others and lithium based ion batteries. Thermal runaway makes lithium-ion batteries quite hazardous in respect of fire safety despite their efficiency for lithium-ion batteries. Adequate heating and safety measures could prevent this risk. Therefore, these issues prove critical towards creating fire resilient electric cars and ensuring they continue as safe and environmentally-friendly alternatives.
