This study is an effort to examine the factors affecting quality education at the under graduation level and to find its influence on each other to ensure quality education from the point of teachers and students of Selected Colleges of Mangalore University. This paper is analytical in nature. To attain the objective of the study, 240 students and 16 faculty members from all B Com, BA, BBA and BSc. faculties have been interviewed. Respondents were interviewed using questionnaire. Secondary sources were reviewed to gather input to make this study trustworthy and effective. Majority of the respondents (68 per cent) opined that the education system in the study area is better but there are many factors that are hampering quality education, especially political influence on the recruitment of teachers, teachers and students’ politics, lack of infrastructure etc. are the most important.
