The present study was carried out in Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Darjeeling from May, 2023 to July, 2023. Five individuals were selected for the study. The study showed that, if suitable enclosure, proper diet, social interaction, captive management are provided, the red pandas will breed successfully in zoo. Captive management of red pandas also play a crucial role in conservation efforts as their natural habitat continues to be threatened by habitat loss, deforestation and climate change. Captive population serve as a sort of insurance policy against extinction. Behavioural Variety Index (BVI) was calculated and analyse behavioural activity of animals under human care.
