Butea monosperma commonly known as palash is a medium size deciduous tree with hight 20-40 feet, and the trunk is usually crooked and rough grey bark. In December and January this tree is leafless, but from January to April it truly becomes a tree of flame. It flowers have a bright attractive orange colour, it is also called ‘flame of forest’.The plant is used in Ayurvedic , Unani and Siddha medicine for various ailments. Almost all the parts of the plants namely bark, leaves, fruit, flower, stem, gum, branches etc are used as medicine and miscellaneous purpose. This manuscript is entirely dependent on secondary sources of information. In this review, We are describe the antioxidant, anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, antistress, anti-microbial and wound healing properties of butea monosperma.
