Mosquito diseases are major public health concerns in India. Many chemicals have been used for the purpose of Mosquito repellency, however they are extremely harmful for human health. Based on the knowledge on traditional repellent plants obtained through ethnobatanical studies, of Ocimum sanctum, Ocimum basilicum, Ocimum americanum, Leucas aspera, Marrubium vulgare, Coleus ambonics and Mentha were tested against the fourth instar larvae of culex quinquefasciatus. The extraction is obtained by Ethanol and Aqueous. The leaf extracts showed larval larval mortality sequentially increases from lower concentration to higher concentration (0.625%- 5%). It was observed that the maximum larvicidal activity was recorded in Ethanol leaf extract of Marrubium vulgare i.e., 93% and 87% mortality of Culex quinquefasciatus in5% concentration.
