Title

A study on influence of employee benefits towards organizational commitment with reference to milky mist dairy food pvt ltd

Abstract

Employee benefits which included mandatory benefits and fringe benefits are becoming essential portion of the compensation packages that are offered by organizations to their employees. The purpose of this study was to reveal whether employee benefits offered by the organization are important as antecedents to organizational commitment for employees in Milk-manufacturing industry in the state of erode. Having and bringing committed employees would require lot of effort for the team. Hence empirical study was conducted to understand the employees’ commitment and its components with 120 respondents selected randomly using simple random sampling and to analyse the continuance commitment and its association with gender. The research also assesses the affective commitment and its relationship with intention to stay in the company. The data was analysed using descriptive analysis for affective, normative and continuance commitment that can describe the employee commitment A total of 260 employees responded to the survey. The results of the study suggested that mandatory benefits and fringe benefits were positively influenced organizational commitment. The results further denoted that fringe benefits fully mediated mandatory benefits when predicting organizational commitment. The implications of the findings were discussed.
