Title

OptiDriveX : Vision based Smart Vehicle Assistance System

Abstract

Due to human error and a lack of adherence to local driving regulations, a large portion of driving mishaps arise making a smart vehicle assistance system highly advantageous. OptiDriveX, a novel Vision based Smart Vehicle Assistance System is proposed to ensure drivers’ safety. Each module of the system is designed based on accuracy and reflex time to deliver high-quality performance, enabling implementation on a wide range of motor vehicles with the least hardware requirements. The System comprises four main sections: detection of the lane, detection of object, segmentation, and estimation of depth. Novel techniques are integrated into each section to enhance the accuracy of others within the system, as well as the system as a whole. Furthermore, a graphical user interface (GUI) has been developed to effectively display perceived information to the driver. A public dataset like BDD100K is utilized to fine-tune and evaluate the system. In addition to enhancing safety, the System also aims to optimize traffic flow by facilitating smoother driving experiences. The system’s adaptability allows for seamless integration with existing vehicle technologies, ensuring compatibility across various models and manufacturers. Furthermore, a strategy for ongoing advancements is outlined to continually enhance the system’s capabilities and accommodate evolving road conditions and driving environments. Through collaborative efforts with automotive industry stakeholders, the implementation and adoption of this technology are anticipated to significantly contribute to the advancement of autonomous driving systems.
