Efficient traffic management in urban areas is crucial for mitigating congestion and enhancing road safety. Traditional traffic light systems often fall short in dynamically responding to changing traffic conditions, leading to inefficiencies and delays. Moreover, prioritizing emergency vehicles during critical situations remains a challenge, resulting in potentially life-threatening delays. To address these issues, the Adaptive Traffic Light Management System is proposed, which dynamically adjusts traffic light timings based on real-time traffic conditions and prioritizes the movement of emergency vehicles. By incorporating sensors to monitor traffic intensity, the system optimizes green signal durations during high traffic volume to reduce congestion for all vehicles. Conversely, during low traffic periods, wait times at intersections are minimized to improve overall traffic efficiency. Integration of RFID technology enables seamless communication between emergency vehicles and traffic lights. RFID tags installed in emergency vehicles trigger traffic lights to switch to a priority mode as vehicles approach intersections. This prioritization mechanism significantly reduces response times for emergency services, enhancing public safety and minimizing risks associated with delayed emergency response.
