Title

Negotiating Identities Across Borders: An Exploration of Indian Diaspora Literature

Authors

Abstract

The Indian diaspora is a diverse group of people dispersed throughout the world who bring with them stories of belonging, migration-shaped identities, and a wealth of cultural history. The literary representations of the Indian diaspora are explored in this research study, which looks at how authors have dealt with issues of identity, cultural hybridity, and love for one's native land. The paper delves into the rich tapestry of Indian diaspora literature, examining author’s depiction of the experiences of individuals and communities navigating questions of identity, culture, and belonging around the world by analysing the works of diasporic writers such as Salman Rushdie, Jhumpa Lahiri, and Kiran Desai. Through a comprehensive analysis of select literary works, this article illuminates the diverse and complex nature of Indian diasporic experiences, highlighting themes of migration, displacement, hybridity, and cultural adaptation. By delving into the narratives woven by Indian diaspora authors seeks to provide insights into the ways in which literature serves as a powerful medium for exploring the multifaceted dimensions of diasporic identity
