This study examines income inequality among rural households in Bangladesh, focusing on agricultural and non-agricultural sources. Analyzing data from three districts: Chadpur, Sirajganj and Rajshahi, the study sheds light on economic strength and demographic structure in relation to income distribution. Rajshahi has the highest income due to high livestock income unlike Chadpur and Sirajganj. Livestock is emerging as an important source of income for Rajshahi, reflecting regional economic differences. A series of economic activities were documented, with implications for political intervention. Recommendations include targeted support programs, animal development programs, various incentives, infrastructure improvements, climate resilience measures, better access to finance, technology adoption and family planning programs by implementing these strategies, policy makers can reduce inequality of income, promote economic growth and promote sustainable development in rural Bangladesh.
