Title

EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF HEAT TRANSFER IN CIRCULAR DUCT WITH ANGULAR BAFFLE FINS

Abstract

In this study, the effect of the parameters baffled fins material, blockage ratio, Reynold number, heat input are investigated to find out heat transfer enhancement for internal flow through pipe under forced convection. Nusselt number, Reynolds number, friction factor and Performance Evaluation Criteria (PEC) are investigated experimentally. It is found that the most important affecting the heat transfer is Reynolds number. The performance of system is evaluated for range of Re 28000 to 67000 and for wattage input of 28.91 W, 65.12 and 88.58 W. The insert that pitch are 35mm have greater PEC over the insert material that pitch of 50mm. It has been observed that PEC for the flow rate(velocity) of 08 m/s is greater than other two different flow rate (18m/s and 20m/s.
