Title

Advances in Forensic Science: Integration of 3D Imaging and 3D Printing

Abstract

This review paper explores the transformative impact of integrating 3D imaging and 3D printing technologies in forensic science. The combined use of these technologies has transformed the fields of crime scene investigation, evidence documentation, and court room presentations. Forensic investigators may get precise and comprehensive three-dimensional depictions of crime scenes and significant pieces of evidence by employing sophisticated 3D imaging methods like laser scanning and photogrammetry. As a result, 3D printing makes it possible to physically replicate these intricate models, providing juries and judges with real evidence that is fit for a trial. This study investigates the various uses of 3D imaging and printing in forensic research, such as facial reconstructions, ballistic trajectory reconstruction, blood spatter analysis, and evidence preservation.
