Title

Determinants and Impacts of Fintech Adoption: A Study on Financial Behavior and Literacy

Abstract

The rapid evolution of financial technology (Fintech) has revolutionized the financial services industry, offering innovative solutions that enhance efficiency, accessibility, and user experience. This research aims to investigate the factors influencing the adoption of Fintech services, examine the role of demographic variables, and assess the impact of Fintech on financial behavior and literacy in India. The study employs a comprehensive survey methodology, collecting data from 123 respondents across various age groups, genders, education levels, and employment statuses. The analysis reveals that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and trust in Fintech providers are critical determinants of Fintech adoption. The findings show that younger individuals (ages 18-34), females, and those with higher education levels (Associate Degree and above) exhibit higher adoption rates. Furthermore, Fintech adoption has led to positive changes in financial behavior for a majority of users, including improved financial management and increased savings. The study also finds that Fintech services have the potential to enhance financial literacy, although additional educational efforts are required to fully realize this potential for all user groups. Based on these findings, the research provides several recommendations to promote Fintech adoption and financial inclusion. These include targeted awareness campaigns, financial literacy programs, the development of user-friendly interfaces, and the enhancement of transparency and security measures. The study concludes by highlighting areas for future research, such as longitudinal studies on the long-term impact of Fintech adoption and the exploration of Fintech adoption in rural and remote areas. This research contributes to the understanding of Fintech adoption in India and offers valuable insights for Fintech companies, policymakers, and educators aiming to foster a more inclusive and digitally literate financial ecosystem.
