Title

“APPLICATION OF BRAZILIAN TRADITIONAL EMBROIDERY ON INDIAN WOMEN’S ETHNIC WEAR”

Abstract

The study was conducted to know the responses about changing outlook of Ethnic wear dresses. Though Brazilian embroidery is traditional embroidery of the Brazil country. The popularity of Brazilian interior embroidery inspired to design apparel products. The respondents who have viewed the collections have appreciated the concept of Brazilian embroidery using viscose rayon thread for Indian women’s ethnic wear dresses. Respondents with fashion conscious who are very interested in decorating their wardrobe frequently and willing to retain the traditional have liked this application. From the result it is evident that Design-1 was preferred for embroidery design 86%, placement as 73%, colour combination as 71%, finishing as 74% and for its overall appearance as 76%. Design-2 was preferred for embroidery design 92%, placement and colour combination as 93%, finishing as 94% and overall appearance as 95%. Design-3 was preferred for embroidery design 73%, placement as 71%, finishing as 74%, colour combination and overall appearance as 76%. Design-4 was preferred for embroidery design 82%, placement as 73%, colour combination as 85%, finishing as 77% and for its overall appearance as 76%. Design-5 was preferred for embroidery design 84%, placement as 76%, colour combination as 81%, finishing as 79% and for its overall appearance as 82%. Design-6 was preferred for embroidery design 79%, placement as 76%, colour combination as 71%, finishing as 74% and for its overall appearance as 77%. The implementation of interior Brazilian embroidery on Indian’s women’s wear gives an elegant look for the wearer. The respondents are interested in the designs and the visual criteria of embroidery design, placement, colour combination, finishing, and overall appearance of the Brazilian embroidery on women’s ethnic wear anarkali dresses show the uniqueness and gives an elegant look. Hence from the study it is evident that the application of Brazilian embroidery on Indian women’s ethnic wear was well accepted among the targeted customers.
